Xim Báalam – Paseo del Jaguar
The Xim Báalam – Jaguar Path project protects key habitats for the jaguar (Panthera onca), the Mexican tamandua (Tamandua mexicana), and other tropical forest species. Its strategy integrates geographic science, ecological restoration, biodiversity monitoring, and active management for wildlife conservation, including specific refuges that ensure the survival of sensitive species. Community brigades participate in camera trapping, satellite image analysis, and hydrological management.
Main Objectives
-Preserve biological corridors that connect forests and wetlands.
-Reforest with native species to strengthen biodiversity and carbon capture.
-Generate biodiversity credits that strengthen local economies and finance conservation.
-Implement refuges and management practices for wildlife, with special attention to the Mexican tamandua and the jaguar.
-Strengthen local capacities through green employment and technical training.

VALUE
Xim Báalam is an integrated conservation territory, where ecological design and digital communication clearly demonstrate the commitment to biodiversity. Its approach combines forest restoration, monitoring of large mammals, and specialized refuges, ensuring a functional corridor for wildlife in the long term.
